Write As If You’ll Die Tomorrow

Sometimes we have an idea in our head for a book but we put off writing it. Life gets in the way or we just don’t feel like writing today. But what if you died tomorrow? No one would ever be able to know the story that you have to tell. If you write because you want to share information and/or help others, urge yourself to write it because you don’t know what tomorrow holds.

Don’t be fooled by the title, this is a motivational post! Here are 5 ideas to get you writing:

  • Write Now
Stop what you’re doing right now and start writing
  • Brainstorm
It’s part of the writing process so it counts
  • Outline your story
Knowing how the story plays out can help you write it out
  • Write out your five-year plan as a writer
If you plan on being a published author, make a plan on how to get there
  • Create your writing space
It’s hard to write at the kitchen table surrounded by kids, make a space just for writing

Writing prompts also help, having a reward system and schedule help too. Set yourself deadlines, do express writing sessions to get you started, or read first to get you going.

Overall, you have to prioritize your writing and schedule inspiration instead of waiting for it to hit you.

Do you have something to write about that can help another person avoid committing suicide? Do you want to share all the knowledge you have or just let it go to waste?

Write today.
