An amazing writing exercise that can build your word count for your manuscript is an express writing session. As many as you can actually.
An express writing session is exactly what it sounds like. Start a timer for 10 minutes (or whatever your time preference is) and write as much as you can, as fast as you can. You will be amazed at how much quality content you can write when you’re on a quick deadline.
An important rule to express writing sessions is to never stop writing. If you get distracted or a different thought comes through your mind, write it in. You can delete it later. Don’t lose momentum.
Write now. Edit later. It’s as simple and as powerful as that. Try this for your next scene or section for your book and see what comes out of it.
