Prioritizing Your Writing

If you want to be a Writer, write.

Best-Selling Author’s all have one thing in common. They all considered their writing as their job and made it a priority.

Just like paying bills, cleaning the house, and making dinner are all essential tasks to the day, they made writing essential too. If you want to be a best-selling author and be able to call yourself a Writer, then you have to prioritize your writing.

Outlining, research, writing, editing, and revising are all priorities now. Schedule them into your day and treat them with the same importance as your other responsibilities. If you don’t, a year from now you will be in the same place in your writing. Instead of being published, you will still be writing as a hobby around your dead end job.

Make yourself a schedule for tomorrow. Wake up, get ready, eat breakfast and exercise. Pay bills, clean the house, eat lunch and write. Make dinner, shower, read and write. Or whatever your typical day looks like. Just make sure writing is included and never skipped. Unless, of course, you don’t want to be a published author.
