Why do you read books? You learn something from every book you read, even if you’re only reading for fun. Wouldn’t you like to know what you’ve learned? Wouldn’t you like to get the most out of your books and the time you spend reading them?
If so, you should review your books. You could review them for yourself or you can start a book review blog or vlog and share them with others. You can even get paid for it. There are websites like Contena, Upwork, or OnlineBookClub that will pay you to review books. Does your local newspaper or favorite magazine have a book review section? If not, you could offer to start one!
If you are reviewing the book just for yourself then simply summarizing the book and listing your favorite highlights may be enough. However, if you plan on sharing your reviews with other people in any way, you will want to be more descriptive. What was accomplished in the book? What did you like most about the book and what didn’t you like?
Reviewing a book helps you gain perspective on the information that was introduced to you. It also lets you analyze it so you can see how the information applies to your life. Reviewing the books you read is essential to know what you learned from it. You spent 2 hours reading a book today. What did you learn?
